THE YARMOUTH ROTARY FOUNDATION:

The Object:           The object of the Yarmouth Rotary Foundation Inc is:  Generally assisting worthy persons, charitable institutions, and to render general assistance to individuals and institutions in educational/scholarship purposes. (from articles of organization dated 6/12/01)

 

The Goal:             In 2009 our 5 year goal was to build the foundation to $100,000. 

                          

Donations:           The foundation is a 501(c)(3) corportation.  Donations made to the Yarmouth Rotary Foundation are tax deductible.

 

Source of funding:  15% of profit from the golf tournament, street art festival, memorial donations

  

 

Balance in the Foundation as of:  12/31/09:   $74.471.85

A check was written from the foundation to buy and repair instruments for DY school system.  (Money earned from the Street Festival), and for essay prizes for the Dialogue for Peace,

 

The Board of Directors of the Yarmouth Rotary Foundation met on January 20,2010.

 

The Board voted and approved the following:

 

Tammy Gilvinski and Jim Leighton to be co-treasurers.

 

Checks will be written from the foundation account for:

The foundation will payout $5,500.00 to worthy students for scholarships to either DYHS or Cape Cod Tech.  Scholarships to be determined by the Scholarship Committee.

$1000. award to a( senior) member of the DYHS Interact Club

$1000. award to a( senior) member of CC Tech Interact Club.

$1,500. to Community Visions, Inc. for the Flax Pond project.

 

The next meeting will be held the end of March.  Exact date to be announced in March.
